Toni Loco combines Italian and New York style pizza

The motto at Toni Loco is: Pizza is the answer, whatever the question. At this Italian-American pizza restaurant, you can choose between single slices or a New York style (read: very large) pizza with fine drinks.

Toni Loco is a new hot spot in the Pijp from the same owners as popular restaurants The Butcher, Izakaya and Mr. Porter. Here they serve traditional Italian pizzas with a twist. Fresh ingredients and a thin base with crispy crust to which they have added sesame seeds. The 50 cm pizzas are a treat for the big eater or good for sharing. In addition, all varieties can also be ordered as individual slices.

The map at Toni Loco

The menu at Toni Loco is simple, with a choice of six different pizzas of which the Pepperoni and the Olivio (with olives) are absolute favorites. With the long list of additional toppings such as ham, jalapeño, spinach and peppers, you can create your perfect pizza. Also nice is that there is a special selection of champagnes and wines are served by the bottle. The 2007 Misty Cove Pinot Noir is a perfect wine to pair with your pizza or go for chic with a 2009 Dom Pérignon. And for after dinner, there's homemade gelato.

Neapolitans are very serious about "their" pizza and they recognize the characteristic smell, taste and consistency from afar. At Sotto on Amstelveenseweg and Roelof Hartstraat, you eat pizza as the Neapolitans prescribe. In a wood-fired stone oven at a temperature of 485°C, your pizza will turn golden brown in 90 seconds....

To get in, you need to know the right people, be on the guest list and know the right password. A...
